How To Record & Edit 1080p (100% Free) - Super detailed

Recommended Posts

If you're not already recording, you should be. Why? It is a useful tool for new members and ranks. It lets the ranks and experienced members see what your doing and point out where you may be messing up, and where you can improve. For the newer members, it lets them see how you move and situate yourself around to stay alive, and provide more impact for your clan. This is going to be long winded, so skip to wherever you need help.

Recording Software
First you'll need to download OBS Recording Software. It's 100% free, and once you know how to use it, can produce very high quality videos. You can download it for free at https://obsproject.com
Download for whatever platform you're on. and run the file, spam click Next and Accept.

Settings:
So once it's downloaded, youll need to tweak a few things to make HQ recordings.

If you have a decent PC, use game capture. If you tend to lag a bit, or notice your gamplay isnt where it normally is, use Window capture.

Next, youll want to get to the settings tab, there we can change the quality, sound options, recording location and everything youll end up needing.

Okay, so once the settings window opens, you wont want to play with anything in "general", go right to output and change it from simple to advanced

Pick your recording path, then try to match the settings I have set.

Video Settings.

Advanced settings.
It's not 100% needed to change this, but you'll notice that when you hit stop, the end of your video will look a little washed.

Getting Sony Vegas:

Now that you have a way of getting vids, youll need to edit them. I personally use Adobe Premiere, but the much faster, more simple option is Sony Vegas. Follow along and I'll show you how to get the latest version
First download WinRAR, 7Zip or any other zip file.
Go to this link (https://mega.nz/#!YUMmhaCL) and use this Key (!NFpnyXJYKZ3HS-GYuutfQ1_eaxL_41ZgEU7DVYifl2Y)
Hit download

Extract the file. Password to get into the file is "MrVibez"

Now, once its extracted, TURN YOUR INTERNET OFF.
Run the setup. WITH INTERNET OFF. Don't open it once setup is done.

Next, you'll need to replace a file in your CPU program files. Go into your harddrive (or wherever you picked when you ran the setup)

Once the protein folder is open, drag and drop the protein file from within the "Replace File" folder inside the extracted Sony Vegas folder you downloaded.

Now you're ready to record, and edit. Here are some fun tips.

1) Formatting tags. When uploading to YouTube, you can use Formatting tags. When you go to upload your video, there will be a section for "Tags". Usually this is the same as Instagram tags, and things like that to let people find things related to the tag. YouTube actually lets you use it to edit your video.

               - Put YT:Quality=High to make your video play in the highest quality level the viewer can watch

-Use YT:Crop=16:9 to remove the black bars from the sides of your video if there is any. Windowboxing is super annoying and makes your video look like shit.

2) Sony Vegas Tip: Hold CTRL when youre clicking the end of your video to speed it up/slow it down as you drag the end to around your desired length

When you're selected on your track, click "S" to split the video so you can remove sections that you don't like (Banking, ect.)

3) When In OBS you should set your hotkeys to make it faster to stop recording and start again, that way you wont have to cut so much out, and wont end up with a massive video file.

This is seriously amazing.

Going to have to sit down and sort this out myself.

Do you just leave it recording the entire time for pk trips or start / stop it?
